THE DRESS SOCK REINVENTED

We received an awesome customer email this morning that I wanted to share with you: "I do, however, own 14 pairs of h+A socks. So I have pretty much been wearing them every day for a week now and they are beyond f*!king comfortable!"

Without trying to sound cocky, we do hear the last part of that sentence a lot (sometimes with or without the vulgarity). The truth is, we have done something completely different to our dress sock, which ultimately makes it "beyond f*!king comfortable!" We spent well over a year working with our factory and a team of foot and ankle specialists to perfect our design, and the diagram above showcases some of its awesomeness.

You can purchase and view our complete line of socks at www.hookandalbert.com and don't be afraid to email us how "f*!king comfortable" they are!

SOCK STYLING 101

We received a customer email this morning asking us a very common question: "....what should I wear your bold colored socks with? I wear a suit to work almost everyday (except Friday) and want to use my socks to inject some color into my wardrobe without looking like a fool...."

This question gave us the idea to start a mini blog series called SOCK STYLING, where we will field questions on how to pair your dress socks with the outfit. We know that doing this in a tasteful yet sophisticated way can be tricky, but the good news is that there is no right or wrong answer (the bad news is there is no right or wrong answer).

Our first piece of advice is to be confident, but have direction. The above customer went on to tell us that he is in finance and, for the most part, leans towards a conservative look. He wears tailored suits in the Navy spectrum and most often pairs them with either white or blue shirts.

With this piece of intel, we recommend experimenting with our solids line, but avoiding a casual color (like hunter green). Pairing our purple solid with a blue suit is a beautiful look and can be relatively understated if done right - the same goes with our cloud and mustard colors. Remember, much like the theoretical stylings of a mullet*, you can keep it conservative up top, but have a party down below.

Do you have a SOCK STYLING question or dilemma? Let us know and we'll gladly give out two cents!

*we love the reference, but don't recommend pairing a mullet with any of our socks.

Lace them up!

For those of you who follow the blog and are familiar with our story, you know hook + ALBERT is all about the finer details in a man's wardrobe. While we set out to bring change to the luxury sock market (by reshaping the traditional ankle accessory,) we also felt it was important to offer our consumers those hard to find "little accessories" that can truly make your look unique.

One of those items that has been a huge success is our line of colored shoelaces. We offer five unique colors and sell them in sets of two (ie a pair of blue and a pair of red) or you can purchase the full collection of five. These laces come standard in 30 inch length and go perfect with a dress shoe or a low cut boot.

For those that purchased our laces (and there are a lot of you,) be sure to post some pictures of your laces in action on our facebook page (facebook.com/hookandalbert.)

The R train.....

Today while riding the R train in NYC, I spotted two sartorially inclined gentlemen sitting apart from each other. Both had on form fitting suits with their beautiful tie knots being sandwiched between a spread collar. As I made my way down to their shoes, I was impressed - one with his Gucci loafers and the other in a Loake single monk strap. But the socks!

Hopefully on Monday, they will be enlightened.
